Bella e ricercata guida del Grand Tour della nobiltà europea, impreziosita da 152 tavole, fra le quali 21 carte ripiegate di mappe che raffigurano l’Italia (due carte), Trento, Venezia (in due copie), Padova (in due copie), Ferrara, Bologna, Siena, Ancona, Roma (veduta), Frascati, Napoli, Pisa, Lucca, Genova, Pavia, Parma, Piacenza, Mantova, Verona (veduta) e Milano.
4 volumi, cm.17×10, legatura in piena pelle, dorso a 6 nervature, con titolo inciso in oro. 151 tavole incise (di cui 68 piegate) di carte, piani, vedute, ritratti e costumi. Nel complesso buono stato di conservazione dell’opera.
La maggior parte delle copie della seconda edizione reca nel frontespizio l’indicazione Compagnie des libraires, associazione di librai stampatori la cui composizione è variata negli anni ma di cui Guillaume Cavelier faceva parte. La guida, che sappiamo da Barbier I, 872 essere opera di Rogissart e dell’abate Havard.
