Antoine Laurent Castellan, born in Montpellier in 1772 and died in Paris in 1838, was a renowned painter, writer and engraver. Decorated with the Legion of Honor and a member of the Academy of Fine Arts, he produced works mainly dedicated to landscapes, contributing to illustrated books such as View of Italy And View of the Alps.

Il palazzo Petrovski (in russo: Петровский путевой дворец , Petrovski poutevoï Dvorets ) è un palazzo neogotico pari a Mosca, accanto alla prospettiva di Leningrado (Leningradsky Prospekt) – vecchia strada per Tver. Fu costruito dal 1776 al 1780, su richiesta di Caterina la Grande, in onore della vittoria della Russia imperiale sull’impero ottomano, dopo la guerra russo-turca del 1768-1774. Questo palazzo imperiale, costruito da Matveï Kazakov, fungeva da luogo di riposo prima dell’arrivo a Mosca della strada da San Pietroburgo.
Pictorial Cosmorama fu una rivista illustrata fondata a Milano da Giovanni Francesco Zini, avvocato. Molti degli esponenti della società artistico-letteraria milanese (Carlo Tenca, Alessandro Lampugnani nonché un esordiente Antonio Ghislanzoni) si accostarono al giornalismo facendo le prime esperienze sul «Cosmorama Pittorico», che ebbe il merito di essere la prima rivista in cui le illustrazioni ricoprirono un ruolo importante (novità questa che fu rimproverata da Carlo Cattaneo, che pure fu un collaboratore assiduo). Dopo il 1848 la rivista entrò in crisi e fu chiusa.
