Jakob Feucht (1540-1580) Postilla Catholica. This is the Catholic Ausslegun 1577
1.200,00 €Catholic Postscript is a theological work published in 1577 in Cologne by Calenius and Erven J. Quentels. It is the extremely rare first edition of the work of Jakob Feucht (1540-1580), an important exponent of Catholic theology of the 16th century. The work is divided into two parts and features a rich illustrative apparatus composed of woodcuts, some of which are attributed to the famous German artist Hans Sebald Beham (1500-1550). Beham, one of the "Little Masters", is known for his detailed and innovative engravings.
Bound in leather with slightly later dry-stamped decorations, this edition is presented in a folio format (34 x 20.5 cm). Despite the signs of time, it retains considerable historical and artistic value.
