Antoine Laurent Castellan, pittore, scrittore e incisore, nacque a Montpellier il 1 febbraio 1772 e morì a Parigi il 2 aprile 1838.
Decorato con la Legion d’onore e membro dell’Accademia di Belle Arti, Castellan è noto per i suoi paesaggi, in particolare per le illustrazioni dei libri View of Italy, View of the Alps And Letters from Italy. Il museo di Montpellier ospita due suoi dipinti.
