Consalvo Carelli, one of the main exponents of the Posillipo School, nacque a Napoli nel 1818. Figlio del noto paesaggista Raffaele Carelli, iniziò la sua carriera artistica in giovane età, perfezionando le sue abilità sotto la guida di William Leicht.
Nel corso della sua vita, Carelli ricevette numerosi riconoscimenti, tra cui l’incarico di maestro di pittura della Regina Margherita e la nomina a professore presso l’Accademia di San Luca. Morì a Napoli nel 1900, lasciando un’importante eredità artistica.
